New Bedford Woman Arrested After Stealing Laptop Computer

A 26 year old New Bedford woman was arrested Sunday afternoon accused of stealing a laptop computer from a north end home. Police allege that Stephanie Drew of Shaw Street walked into the home on Glennon Street while the occupants were in the yard and took a Apple Macbook from the dining room table. The husband observed Drew walking easterly on Query Street, pushing a baby stroller with the missing laptop in the bottom of the stroller.

Police were called and she told police she had no idea how the laptop was in her possession. She was taken into custody and charged with breaking and entering into a dwelling and larceny.

Her 3 year old son was taken to his grandfather's home while the department of Child and Family Services was notified.
