Westerly, Rhode Island resident Steve Schirripa is no stranger to playing second fiddle. As Bobby “Bacala” on The Sopranos, he was always answering to someone else, first Uncle Junior and later Tony Soprano.

These days, Schirripa is No. 2 behind his dog WillieBoy – and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

The six-year-old dachshund has become a social media superstar after being featured in numerous videos on Schirripa’s accounts, and they almost always feature the pup eating some kind of human food.

That led to Schirripa penning a children’s book about his dog’s culinary adventures titled WillieBoy Eats the World.

A Hometown Stop in Westerly

Schirripa and WillieBoy are hitting the road on a book tour, and the final stop will be on April 26 in Westerly, where Schirripa bought a home and moved with his family in 2025. The event will take place at 2 p.m. at the United Theatre, located at 5 Canal Street.

Will the book have a sequel? I guess it all depends on how much WillieBoy continues to eat. Fans noted on the social media posts that the dog is starting to look a little chonky.

As Tony Soprano might say to WillieBoy, “I think it's time for you to start to seriously consider salads.”
