If you're a boat owner in the area, you may have noticed some improvements in several communities. The state Department of Energy and Environmental Affairs has invested $2.2 million for fixing or replacing boat ramps and docks throughout the state.

Dartmouth's Apponagansett Bay was the recipient of $385,000 in improvements. Harbormaster Steven Melo tells WBSM News the boat ramp was reconstructed and new floating docks were installed.

Another $12,000 went to improvements at Hoppy's Landing in Fairhaven, $225,000 to the Taunton River Basin in Fall River, and $55,000 to replace a floating dock at the Westport River.
