Massachusetts State Police have announced that a "Sobriety Checkpoint" will be implemented in Bristol County Friday into Saturday.

In the announcement, State Police said the purpose of the checkpoint is to educate drivers and strengthen the public's awareness to the need of detecting and removing motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and or drugs from the roads.

The "Sobriety Checkpoint" will be operated during varied hours. The selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary.
