State Senator Mark Montigny (D-New Bedford) is announcing a series of Safety Equipment Grants to fire departments on the Southcoast.

Montigny says the competitive grant program will help departments purchase a variety of safety gear, including thermal imaging cameras, radios, and rescue equipment.

“Firefighters are our first line of defense whenever tragedy strikes,” said Senator Montigny. “They deserve nothing less than the best safety gear so that they can do their jobs with the utmost confidence that we are doing everything possible to keep them safe."
