Southcoast Open Air Market is Coming to Downtown New Bedford

Formerly known as Somerset Open Air Market, the beloved farmers market is expanding and has a new name to go along with it. The Southcoast Open Air Market (SOAM), has partnered with Downtown New Bedford Inc. to introduce their family-friendly events to New Bedford's downtown area.

Experience all that New Bedford has to offer as local farmers, artisans, and small businesses come together to create a great weekend, perfect for all ages. Do you prefer to shop organic? SOAM has a large variety of fresh fruit and vegetable vendors to choose from. This free, summer-time event is the perfect way to spend an afternoon with your family and friends. Be sure to check out your favorite local musicians and enjoy food from the best vendors on the SouthCoast.

Our very own intern, Alexis raved about the market, stating that not only did she go home with a bag full of fresh produce, but also bought homemade jewelry, desserts, and even dog treats for her puppies back home.

The Southcoast Open Air Market will make a grand debut in New Bedford's downtown area on Saturday, June 15. Its original market will open in Somerset on Saturday, June 1 from 10 am to 3 pm.
