NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — Here on the SouthCoast, there's nothing like watching the leaves change to a burst of color during the fall.

It's always during those moments where the air gets a little more crisp and all the sweaters are broken out of the closet.

Every year, I am convinced summer is my favorite season, yet as soon as September hits, I welcome the fall with open arms. If I have to experience the fall season anywhere in the world, it's New England, and that's a truth I'll always stand by.

Taking in everything the season encompasses, such as pumpkin spice, apple picking, and the cooler nights, the SouthCoast is a cozy place to live during this time of year.

Let's remember that the fall season also allows you to explore fun activities you can't experience during any other time of the year. One of those activities is getting to witness the beautiful fall foliage.

Of course, this transition happens all around us. One minute, the trees are full of greenery, and the next thing you know, they're engulfed in red, orange and yellow hues.

As lucky as we are to experience the leaves change, this pastime activity can be more appreciated when you find the best spots to really take it all in.

Spotting the perfect locations where you are surrounded by nothing but trees and Mother Nature takes time and dedication. However, once you experience it, you appreciate this time of year even more.

The SouthCoast has great spots to soak in all the fall foliage, from trails to beaches and everything in between. We hope this list will help you catch the beauty of fall foliage and make the search a little easier this year.

Thankfully, color change hasn't been in full bloom yet for the leaves, but it'll soon be here before we know it.
