SOMERSET — A high school janitor in Somerset has been arrested on charges of child pornography.

Somerset Police say Miguel Pereira, 34, of Somerset, was arrested at Somerset-Berkley Regional High School at about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pereira is a custodian at the school.

Pereira was arrested following an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children task force. According to police, the task force identified Pereira's IP address as the source of child pornography being shared on the internet. A search warrant at Pereira's home was executed prior to his arrest.

Police say Pereira has been employed as a custodian at Somerset-Berkley Regional High School for only a few weeks.

Pereira faces charges of dissemination of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

He will be arraigned Thursday at the Fall River Justice Center.
