Somerset Berkley High School Staff Member Placed on Administrative Leave
SOMERSET — Somerset Berkley Regional School District Superintendent Jeffrey Schoonover and Police Chief George McNeil report that a high school staff member was placed on administrative leave this afternoon after the school district received allegations of inappropriate conduct.
The allegations in question involve conduct during an extracurricular program involving students that occurred at a different school district earlier this month.
The Somerset Police Department was notified by the Somerset Berkley Regional School District about the allegations and the department immediately launched an investigation. The investigation remains active and ongoing, during which time the staff member will remain on administrative leave.
Both the school district and police department are taking this matter seriously and the Somerset Berkley Regional School District will cooperate fully with the Somerset Police in their investigation.
Because this is a personnel matter, no further information is able to be released at this time. An announcement will be made as soon as more information becomes available.
