Some men go to extremes for an excuse to watch the NCAA basketball tournament. According to CNN, some men are scheduling vasectomies during March Madness.

Dr. Ed Sabanegh of the Department of Urology at the Cleveland Clinic says they perform about 50-percent more vasectomies in March than in any other month. Sabanegh adds that some patients even ask him to exaggerate the recovery period so they have an excuse to sit around and watch the tournament.

While data from the American Urological Association doesn't show a relationship between March Madness and vasectomies, that hasn't stopped some urologists from trying to capitalize on the tournament. Last year, Urology Associates of cape Cod ran an ad for vasectomies during the basketball coverage.
