HELP! The City of New Bedford is looking for a willing donor who has a large 30 foot or so evergreen tree to give as the official 2017 Christmas Tree, to be proudly displayed on the front steps of the New Bedford Free Public Library. In years past, residents have approached the City to donate a tree, but the Department of Public Infrastructure hasn't located one yet!

That's where you come in to help out. Spread the word that the City needs to find a tree in the next week or so. DPI will do all the work. They will come to your property and cut down a 30 foot or so spruce, that ideally comes to a point at the top so a star can be affixed. The tree must be easily accessible by truck so the City can retrieve it.

The donation has to be found very soon so the City can decorate the tree in time for the official Tree Lighting early in December. Anyone interested in donating can contact the DPI at 508-979-1556 or the Mayor's office at 508-979-1410, and may your days be merry and bright!
