An MRI on David Ortiz revealed some inflammation in the bony area of his right heel, prompting the Red Sox to totally shut him down, according to ESPN.  Manager John Farrell made it seem like it will be unlikely to see Ortiz ready to go by the start of the season.

This is some troubling news, since Ortiz had just recently started to participate more are practices. Now he will take part in no physical activity at all, and rest 5-7 days. Ortiz is recovering from an injury suffered last season in his right heel.
