Before my weekly spars with Chris McCarthy on WBSM, the person who first taught me to challenge my political perspective was Professor Dwight Duncan at UMass Law.

Prof. Duncan primarily teaches Constitutional Law but he is also an expert on religion and the law. He regularly submits amicus briefs (a brief submitted by a non-party in a case to assist the court) to the U.S. Supreme Court when issues of religious freedom arise.

Recently, his briefs have been cited in a majority opinion and a concurring opinion on separate cases by Justice Clarence Thomas and Justice Samuel Alito, respectively.

With the Supreme Court front and center in the national conversation once again, there was no better guest I could have on the show than my friend and former professor, Dwight Duncan.
