'Portuguese Kids' Raising Money For Injured 'Portuguese Fireman'

They say laughter is the best medicine, and the local comedy group "The Portuguese Kids" are setting out to prove that with a special fundraiser Sunday afternoon.

The fundraiser is for volunteer firefighter and fellow comedian Steve Lopes, known to many as "The Portuguese Fireman".

Lopes was injured in March after falling from a two-story roof while assisting a fellow firefighter. He was seriously injured as a result of the fall and is still recovering.

"Portuguese Kid" Derrick DeMello says Lopes helped "The Portuguese Kids" get their start.
