Popular Seafood Restaurant Closed By State

A popular Route Six seafood restaurant has closed at least for a few days, perhaps longer.

An official document posted on the front door of the Mattapoisett Chowder House says the restaurant has been seized for non-payment of taxes.

The shutdown was confirmed by Maryann Merigan of the Mass. Department of Revenue.  The owner could not be reached for comment.
