Police: Elderly New Bedford Woman Punched for Refusing to Loan Cell Phone
NEW BEDFORD - A New Bedford woman is arrested for the second time this week.
Police say Jennifer Correia, 31, was arrested Thursday evening outside of the King Village apartment complex at 276 Cottage Street after she allegedly punched a 64-year-old woman who would not let Correia use her cell phone.
The victim did not require medical attention.
Correia, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, was arrested without incident. She is charged with assault and battery on a person over 60 years old.
Correia was arrested Tuesday night after she kicked a police officer who was placing her into protective custody.
