Parade Highlights New Bedford’s Cape Verdean Community

The 46th annual Cape Verdean Recognition Day Parade Saturday in New Bedford  brought together thousands of people to celebrate the contributions made by Cape Verdean-Americans to New Bedford's culture and community.  The parade is among the most festive in the city every year, featuring music, dancers and floats.

The parade wrapped up after passing a reviewing stand at the Verdean Vets Memorial Hall on Purchase St.  Community awards were handed out during a ceremony after the parade.
