SCITUATE, Mass. (AP) _ Workplace safety officials are investigating the death of a 61-year-old man who was struck by a bulldozer at a construction site in Scituate.

Authorities say the man was dead when police and paramedics arrived at the scene Friday afternoon. His name has not been released.

Local and state police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.

Contractors are building luxury homes in a new development named Seaside at Scituate. Officials say the accident involved contractor SLT Construction, of Carver. Company officials did not immediately return a message seeking comment Saturday.

An OSHA spokesman says the agency is investigating SLT Construction and has six months to complete the review. He declined further comment.
