A sad, tragic and horrific story out of Lowell. A 7-year-old boy mauled to death by two pit bull dogs. Seems the young lad made the fatal mistake of climbing over a fence into the yard where the dogs were located. You can guess the rest.

The knee jerk reaction from local lawmakers is that cities and towns should be able to outlaw these dogs. Can you imagine blaming the dogs for guarding the fenced-in yard? It's not the breed of dog, it's the training of the animal.

I remember the summer of 1980. We're getting ready for a neighborhood barbecue, chicken wings in hand, and a Doberman Pincher is eyeing me as his afternoon snack. I was defenseless. Play the video below for the rest of the story.
