President Obama is again pushing House Republicans to embrace comprehensive immigration reform.

In a White House event, the President argued that the nation's immigration is broken and an overhaul is long overdue.  He said the U.S. will benefit from bringing millions of undocumented immigrants out of a "shadow economy," calling it the right thing to do.  Obama argued that it will also boost national security.

The Senate has already passed a sweeping, bipartisan immigration bill but reform efforts are stuck in the House.  House Republican leaders have rejected the Senate bill, saying they favor a piecemeal approach to reform.

President Obama said comprehensive immigration reform will grow the economy by expanding the tax base and will also reduce deficits.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
