One Man Shot In The North End, Police Hunt For Shooter

New Bedford Police are on the scene after a man was shot at the corner of Belleville Avenue and Coggeshall Street near the Metro PCS store.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the call came in just before 12:30 p.m. but he could not provide more information.

WBSM's Dan McCready spoke with witnesses at the scene who said a young man ran from the Metro PCS store with a gunman chasing him.  The armed man shot at least twice, striking the first man.  The gunman then jumped into a dark-colored car and drove off.
