NORTH ATTLEBORO (WBSM) — Authorities in North Attleboro are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night in which a man was shot in the face.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, North Attleboro Police responded to the Hampton Inn at 55 Draper Avenue at about 10:05 p.m. on October 21, in response to a 911 call regarding a person being shot.

First responders arrived and located the victim, a 61-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to the face, in the lobby of the hotel. He was taken to a local medical facility for treatment of an injury that was not life-threatening.

According to the D.A.’s Office, the preliminary investigation revealed the victim was not the intended target.

The investigation remains active and ongoing by North Attleboro Police and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the D.A.’s Office. No further information has been released at this time.
