No Jail Time for Woman in New Bedford ‘House of Horrors’ Animal Cruelty Case
FALL RIVER - A New Bedford woman charged in a 'house of horrors' animal cruelty case will not serve any jail time under certain conditions.
The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says 25-year-old Sabrina Harding pleaded guilty last week in Fall River Superior Court to charges of animal cruelty in connection to the discovery of 46 dead and malnourished animals in her South Second Street apartment in 2015.
A judge ordered Harding to serve a two-and-a-half year prison sentence, which the judge suspended for three years. If Harding is charged with any new crimes during the three-year suspension, she could be ordered to serve the entire jail sentence. Harding is not to have direct contact with animals of any kind.
Harding's boyfriend, Jake Brousseau, is also charged in the case.
