New Tourism And Marketing Director Wants To Get Started

New Bedford's new Tourism and Marketing Director says she's ready to get going. Beth Gissinger-Rivera was selected by Mayor Jon Mitchell from a large field of candidates. Gissinger-Rivera is a New Bedford native and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commincation Studies from Emerson College. She also has a decade of experience in public relations and marketing.

Gissinger-Rivera says she's hoping to start her new job as soon as possible, but her appointment must still be approved by the City Council. The annual salary for the position is $61,000.
