New Officers Take The Oath In New Bedford

Seven new Police Officers will soon be on the streets in New Bedford.

The officers were sworn-in Monday by City Clerk Dennis Faria during a City Hall ceremony with elected officials, family members and friends on hand.

Officer Kyle Cabral says he knows full-well that patrolling the streets can be dangerous....

Mayor Jon Mitchell and members of the City Council congratulated the new officers.

For the next few weeks, they'll be working at various jobs within the department, until their assigned a permanent shift.

The new officers now bring the police department's compliment to 263.
