New Committee Added to New Bedford City Council’s Roster

As part of her committee appointments, New Bedford City Council President Linda Morad has created a new committee.

Morad says the new Budget Review Committee will work to find a more efficient way of sifting through the process of setting the next fiscal year's budget with fewer hiccups. "[The current process] basically results in pitting the Council against department heads and the administration and it ends up with a lot of bad feelings when the Council's process is done," said Morad.

Morad appointed Councillor James Oliveira to chair the Budget Review Committee.

She also named Councillor Debora Coelho the chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Neighborhoods, replacing Councillor Brian Gomes who will now serve as the committee's vice chair.
