New Bedford Woman Killed in Dartmouth Crash
DARTMOUTH — A 20-year-old New Bedford woman was killed in a single-car crash on Route 195 in Dartmouth early Friday morning, according to state police.
State police identified the victim as Cali McMullen, who was found dead at the scene after she was ejected from her car in the crash.
McMullen was the only occupant of the car.
Police said troopers out of the Dartmouth barracks responded to the crash on I-195 westbound near the Faunce Corner Road exit shortly before 2 a.m. on Friday.
Emergency crews arrived to find McMullen on the road near her Honda Civic, which state police said had sustained "significant damage."
A preliminary investigation revealed that McMullen lost control of her car, which struck the guardrail and came to a stop in the highway median.
All westbound lanes were temporarily closed at the crash scene during the investigation. The road was fully reopened at 5:15 a.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
