
New Bedford Police Investigating Shots Fired in West End
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police are investigating an incident of shots fired in the city’s West End this afternoon.
Police confirmed to WBSM that officers responded to a call of shots fired at about 12:30 p.m. in the area of Elm Street and Newton Street.
They said a vehicle was found to be damaged but that no injuries were reported.
A scanner report had indicated that five shots had been detected by ShotSpotter, but police did not confirm the number of shots fired.
Police said the investigation remains active at this time.
