The state released its latest unemployment figures and it's not good news for Greater New Bedford.

The area leads the state with an 11 point 9 per cent rate followed by the Lawrence Methuen area at 11 point 6 and Greater Fall River at 11 per cent. In terms of actual figures, Greater New Bedford's workforce had close to 15 hundred workers less in January then in December.

The city's rate increased from 12 point 3 per cent in December to 14 point 2 per cent in January.
