NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police recently arrested a man on multiple drug charges after executing a search warrant at his West End residence.

According to New Bedford Police, detectives investigating an alleged cocaine distribution service operating out of 159 Court Street raided the residence and arrested Tyrell Thomas, 22, as a result.

Police said Thomas was stopped in his vehicle and allegedly found in possession of three plastic bags containing 72 grams of crack cocaine on his person.

Detectives then searched his home, and police said they located 60.6 grams of crack cocaine, 50 grams of suspected fentanyl, oxycodone and Percocet tablets, an assortment of blue tablets, a digital scale, a six-round .30 ammunition magazine, narcotics packaging and $11,541 in cash.

Thomas was arrested and charged with trafficking in 100 grams or more of cocaine, trafficking in 36 grams or more of fentanyl, and possession to distribute a Class B drug.
