Accuweather is forecasting more snow for Greater New Bedford this weekend. City crews are planning their strategy to fight the storm with a few less plows.

Last week's heavy wet snow caused about a dozen of the city's smaller pick up trucks, with plows attached, to blow out their transmissions and some may be out of service to fight this weekends storm.

Ken Blanchard, the Interim Commissioner of the Department of Public Facilities, tells WBSM news there are a couple of reasons why the trucks broke down.

Blanchard adds some of the disabled trucks may be back in service by this weekend while others may need more extensive repair. No matter what, the city's streets will be plowed although it may take a bit longer with fewer plows.
