NEW BEDFORD — Officials say the Jireh Swift Elementary School in New Bedford's North End will be closed for another day on Wednesday, after the school was shuttered yesterday due to ongoing issues with the boiler.

New Bedford Public Schools spokesperson Arthur Motta said parents and guardians of students at the school will be able to pick up their students' belongings Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 11 a.m.

The school will be closed for the rest of the week as well due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Officials have not disclosed the problem with the boiler that has kept the North End school closed for two days in a row.

In a Facebook post published early yesterday morning, the district announced the school would be closed for the day because of the boiler.

A similarly short announcement was made late yesterday about the closure today.
