New Bedford Police Investigating Two Shots Fired Incidents
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police are investigating two incidents of shots fired in the city since last night.
According to police, at around 11 p.m. on September 1, patrol officers responded to the area of Rivet Street and County Street for a ShotSpotter activation.
Officers determined shots had been fired. Police said there was damage to property but that no injuries were reported.
Then at around 3 a.m. today, there was another ShotSpotter activation in the area of the Rockland Street and Bonney Street intersection.
According to police, a suspect vehicle was seen leaving the scene and was chased by officers, but the two suspects exited the vehicle near Linden Street and County Street and have not yet been captured.
A residence was struck by gunfire but no injuries were reported.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
