New Bedford Police Investigating ShotSpotter Activation in West End
NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police are reporting an apparent incident of shots fired in the city’s West End Sunday evening.
According to a post on the New Bedford Police Department’s official Facebook page, a ShotSpotter activation came in at about 7:20 p.m. on April 25 at 166 Chancery Street, reporting seven rounds fired. Police say a single call came in around the same time with the caller stating they heard gunshots near the King Village West neighborhood.
Officers responded to the area and arrived on the scene. Police say the investigating officers found no property damage or victims.
A BOLO was issued for a possible suspect described as a male with a thin build, wearing a black-and-white sweatshirt and black sweatpants, running west from the area of the neighborhood playground.
