New Bedford Police Investigating Overnight Shooting, Stabbing Incidents
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police are investigating a number of incidents of violent crime that have occurred in the city in recent days.
According to New Bedford Police, an adult male shooting victim arrived at St. Luke’s Hospital just after midnight this morning.
“Emergency treatment began and at this time, he is expected to recover,” Assistant Deputy Chief Scott Carola said. “Detectives have taken over the case and the investigation is very active at this time.”
Then at around 2:30 a.m., a patrol unit came upon three males who had been stabbed in the area of the Parkdale housing development off Dartmouth Street. Carola said detectives are also investigating that case, and all three victims are expected to recover.
On July 3, an attempted robbery in the Near North End sent four people to the hospital. According to ABC6, a group of four adult males were confronted by a group of suspects around midnight in the area of the intersection of Deane Street and North Front Street.
A struggle ensued, and the victims sustained injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
That incident also remains under investigation.
