Police Make Arrest in New Bedford Convenience Store Shooting
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — An arrest was made in connection to a New Bedford shooting that occurred at a convenience store earlier this month.
On February 15, officers responded to the shooting on Brock Avenue at around noon. No injuries were reported but a vehicle sustained damage before fleeing the scene.
As a result of the following investigation, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Danielson Varela, 18.
Varela was located on February 23 by patrol officers and taken into custody without incident. He was charged with firing a gun within 500 feet of a building, assault and battery by firearm, and destruction of property.
Varela is being held without bail at the Dartmouth House of Correction. The investigation remains active and additional suspects are being sought.
