The Salvation Army Post in New Bedford sent a truck to Quincy Monday morning to help workers aiding in snow removal efforts.

Major Gilbert Parkhurst says the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency requested more help for the Boston area which has been hit very hard by recent storms.

Parkhurst says the volunteers sent to Quincy will be taking part in efforts similar to those undertaken here in the New Bedford area.

Parkhurst says the work is being done as part of the their Emergency Disaster Services Program.
