New Bedford “Puppy Doe” Connection

There is a local connection to the suspect wanted in the "puppy doe" case. New Bedford Police Detective Capt. Steve Vicente says that the man who was arrested in Bridgeport, Conneticut by Quincy police in connection with the puppy abuse case, 32 year old Radoslaw Czerkawski, was staying at St. Lawrence church in New Bedford from January of 2012 through the end of the April of that year and is accused of stealing 11 checks exceeding 6 thousand dollars, from the rectory and cashing them in under his name and another name. New Bedford Police Detective Gregory Sirois contacted Quincy Police, who arrested Czerkawski in the puppy case, and told them the suspect was also wanted on the check theft charges in New Bedford. Czerkawski will face the local charges in New Bedford District court sometime in the future.
