New Bedford Police Taking Chicken Wing Challenge for Charity

NEW BEDFORD — Watch New Bedford Police representatives earn their wings and help area children as they participate in the 2018 Wing Eating Contest at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 29 at White's of Westport, 66 State Road in Westport.

This annual event, sponsored by the Children's Advocacy Center of Bristol County, serves as a kickoff to April, which is National Child Abuse Awareness Month. This bracket-style competition determines which team, featuring local police, fire, EMS and other child safety service agencies will advance and be the ultimate champ at eating wings.

This event is free, family-friendly and features raffles, food for purchase and music by Wicked Undertow.

Fun 107 will broadcast live with Michael Rock and Gazelle.
