New Bedford Police Seize Sawed-Off Shotgun
New Bedford Police detectives on Monday seized a sawed-off shotgun, 6.4 grams of cocaine, three suboxone film strips, four shotgun shells, two rounds of ".380 auto," drug paraphernalia, and $1504 in cash at 69 Nelson St. Apt. 2E, according to a press release from NBPD communications director Melissa Batchilder.
Joseph Smith, 67, was arrested and charged with drug possession and "several firearms-related offenses" including possession of a sawed-off shotgun, a press release from the department said.
The case was investigated by Detective Matthew Sylvia. The police department provided no additional information.
