New Bedford Police Respond to Six ‘Shots Fired’ Incidents Sunday
NEW BEDFORD - A total of six shots fired incidents were logged by New Bedford Police on Sunday.
According to the department's incident log, police investigated seven separate reports of gunshots being fired in the city. It's unclear if any arrests resulted from the investigations.
- 150 Sawyer Street, 1:35 a.m.
- Firearm within 500 feet of dwelling
- Attempt to commit assault and battery by discharge of firearm
- 102 Matthew Street, Rural Cemetery, 2:07 a.m.
- Firearm, discharge within 500 feet of building
- 1623 Acushnet Avenue, Tiliea's Restaurant Cafe, 2:04 a.m.
- Firearm within 500 feet of building
- Destruction of property - $250, malicious
- 289 Acushnet Avenue, Euphoria Lounge, 2:11 a.m.
- Firearm, discharge within 500 feet of building
- 448 South Second Street, 5:00 a.m.
- Destruction of property - $250, malicious
- Firearm, discharge within 500 feet of building
No injuries were reported in those incidents.
Police also responded to a shooting in the area of Maxfield Street near the Westlawn housing development where one man was injured.
All shooting incidents are under investigation.
