New Bedford Police Make An Arrest In Continental Market Robbery

Diaz Hernandez[/caption]New Bedford Police arrested a suspect in the unarmed robbery of the Continental Market on Sawyer Street last Friday afternoon.

The suspect went behind the counter and stole an envelope from the clerk and escaped with an undetermined amount of cash.  Police recieved a tip Wednesday night that the suspect was seen in the Shawmut Village Housing development. Police obatined a warrant and  arrested 33 year old Diaz Hernandez of Beauneau Court in connection with the robbery. He's facing one count of unarmed robbery in district court.
