NEW BEDFORD - Police are warning residents if you have valuables in your car, it's best to keep them out of plain sight.

A New Bedford man was arrested this week in connection to several car breaks in the city's South End.

When police arrived at the scene near Clegg Field on Brock Avenue late Wednesday  night, two men were holding 26-year-old Robert Boutin to the ground. The men told police Boutin had just broken into their mother's car on Calumet Street.

Police searched Boutin and found a backpack and a Mac Book that were reported stolen from a car on Nautilus Street earlier in the week.

Boutin faces several charges in connection to the thefts.
