New Bedford Police Arrest Two After South End Drug Deal
New Bedford Police have arrested two suspects after they were involved in a drug deal in the South End Tuesday night.
According to the Standard Times, 23-year-old Nicholas Correia and 22-year-old Christian Gomes, both of New Bedford were arrested after a narcotics officer witnessed Correia pacing Cove Road before being picked up in a car by Gomes.
The officer followed the car which went on a short trip before dropping him off.
As police approaced Correia, he quickly threw away a percocet pill. Correia is charged with drug possession.
Police also stopped the car, which was unregistered and uninsured.
Gomes, the driver, is charged with distributing a Class B drug, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle.
