New Bedford Police Arrest Man on Fentanyl Trafficking Charges
NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford man was arrested for trafficking fentanyl yesterday after a drugs bust at his South End home.
On Aug. 9 detectives from the New Bedford Police Department arrested Sean Harris, 29, of Independent Street on suspicion of drug trafficking after a search of his house and car turned up fentanyl and cocaine, according to police.
Police said that the detectives seized over 60 grams of fentanyl and over five grams of crack cocaine during the search, along with digital scales and packaging materials.
Det. Samuel Algarin-Mojica led the investigation.
In 2020, over 93,000 Americans died from drugs overdoses, which is the highest number ever recorded in a 12-month period.
