Hail to the Ale Gods for Another Round of New Bedford Oktoberfest
All hail the almighty ale gods, the New Bedford Oktoberfest is back for its 15th year and just in time for some much-needed socializing over a beer or two.
The last time New Bedford had an Oktoberfest was in 2019. Due to the pandemic, the SouthCoast Business Alliance had to cancel the popular event, but now that the city is opening back up again, the taps can flow and the people can gather.
"We are super excited to bring this event back to the South Coast," SCBA Board Member Deborah Aguiar said. "It's been a staple event for what would have been 15 straight years, were it not for a global pandemic."
The event will take place on Saturday, October 2 at Pier 3 in downtown New Bedford and will kick off at 3 p.m. and end at midnight. The SCBA will soon be announcing ticket sales and sponsorship opportunities so be sure to save the date.
"This is the signature event for the South Coast Business Alliance," Aguiar said. "Our fundraising efforts benefit various non-profits across the SouthCoast that primarily benefit and support at-risk youth and the kids in our community, from scholarships to support."
As in past years, there will be various beers to sample, food trucks, corn hole and, of course, live music acts. Here are the bands and musical acts scheduled and confirmed for 2021:
- Pour Men
- Band Inc.
- NB Rude Boys
- Felix Brown Band
