NEW BEDFORD - A reward is being offered for information leading to a conviction in New Bedford's first homicide of 2018.

Friends and family of Chantel Bruno will make the announcement Thursday at Melissa's Pet Depot in Fairhaven, along with Chantel's dog, Lolita, a Shih Tzu who was injured but survived the stabbing attack that took her beloved owner's life.

The reward will be offered by the Coalition for Animals of Greater New Bedford.

The Coalition says Lolita's care after the attack was costly, and fundraising efforts to defray those costs will also be discussed.

Chantel Bruno, 34, of Wareham, was found stabbed multiple times outside a New Bedford home on Monday morning. She died a short time later.

The press conference will be held at 11 a.m.
