Juveniles Arrested After Downtown New Bedford Stabbing
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police arrested two juveniles in connection with a stabbing that occurred downtown Tuesday night.
According to police, officers responded on the night of July 8 to a report of a stabbing at Custom House Square. They arrived to find a 63-year-old man suffering from stab wounds that were not life-threatening and who said that he had been robbed.
The victim, who was not identified, was transported to the hospital for treatment, police said.

Officers then located two juveniles in the area. Police said one of the juveniles, although a bystander to the stabbing, was taken into custody on an unrelated active warrant.
The second juvenile was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, assault and battery and armed robbery. The juvenile was transported to the Department of Youth Services in Brockton, police said.
