New Bedford Murder Victim and Suspect Identified
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — Both the victim and the suspect in this morning’s homicide in New Bedford’s South End have been identified.
New Bedford Police were called to the Seabra Foods at 41 Rockdale Avenue at around 3:40 a.m. today for a reported male with an injury.
First responders arrived to find the man suffering from an apparent head injury. He was pronounced deceased at 3:56 a.m. by New Bedford EMS.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office has identified the victim as Stephen Oswald, 58, of New Bedford.
Arrested in connection was Nina Busnengo, 31, with a last known address in Mattapoisett. Busnengo is charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and is expected to be arraigned Wednesday morning in New Bedford District Court.
The D.A.’s Office did not identify the weapon used.
