New Bedford Home Damaged by Gunshot Saturday
NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford home was apparently damaged by a single gunshot early Saturday morning just hours after a shooting in the same area sent one person to the hospital.
Police said that on July 31 at around 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter gunshot detection alert in the area of 229 State St.
Investigators believe that the home was damaged by a single shot, according to police.
There were no injuries in the incident, which remains under investigation.
The shooting comes just hours after a Friday evening shooting in the same area that injured one person, who was sent to St. Luke's Hospital.
The victim has since been discharged, according to police.
Suspects are still being sought in the first incident, which also remains under investigation.
